Scribble of imperfection

Presence can be learned.

At any age.

You can do more than you show in the moment that counts. I help people change that. At work and in everyday life.

English ● Voice ● Presence ● Concentration

Three ways to work with me

English & Presence: for professionals who need to present, negotiate and persuade in English.

Executive English: for companies, leaders and teams. Precision and authority in international situations.

Regenerative Practitioners: for people doing earth-care work who need to explain what they do to funders, councils and partners, without performing a different version of themselves.

Bex Dawson working with clients

You can do it.
The moment before is the problem.

The pitch to head office. The negotiation with your most important client. The question you didn’t see coming.

The skill is there. What’s missing is access to it, right when it counts.

It’s rarely a language problem. Most of my clients speak fluent English. They lose the thread, read out the speech, keep the most important point to themselves. Not a language problem. A framing problem.

What actually changes

All performing arts are 80% mental and 20% physical. Breath. Pace. Daring to pause. Gathering yourself before you begin.

That mental part can be practised and trained, just like an instrument. You get two things: how it’s said and how it feels.

Stumbling is part of it

Mistakes aren’t a sign that something is going wrong. They show you’ve left your comfort zone. That’s exactly where change happens.

The sentence that catches the first time. The phrase that only lands on the third try. The week the plan didn’t hold. All part of the way.

Stumbling means you’re on your way up.

The Deliberate Presence Method

One method for everything I do. Whether it’s a leader in front of head office or a team before a big meeting, the path is the same. Only the pace and the tools change.

  1. Look: look before you leap.

  2. Read: understand what already works.

  3. Intervene: change one thing, deliberately.

  4. Repair: adapt old habits to today. You’re not broken. What you do once helped you.

  5. Update: practise until the new way holds.
